Note

 When used as a replacement for the vehicle manufacturer’s factory fitted antenna,
 there is no need to connect the supplied red cable, as power to the antenna amplifier is provided through the centre wire on the antenna cable
 (referred to as ‘Phantom’ power)
 

2.     When used as an aftermarket antenna,
 for radios without ‘Phantom’ power, you MUST CONNECT THE RED WIRE to 12 volts
 (usually either accessory,
 or ignition live, or the head unit’s electric antenna output wire), in order to power the antenna for performance to be as expected.

 

Please note: 

·       Some aftermarket radios have an option to turn antenna power ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ in the system menu.  If you are not connecting the red wire, please make sure the radio  supplies phantom power and that it is switched ‘ON’ in the menu.

·       There is no need to insulate the red wire if using phantom power.
